Cross-Border Transactions
I have participated in documentation and legal coordination for corporate and project matters involving Azerbaijan, Türkiye and the UAE.
Experience
My experience includes working on contracts and corporate documents with participants in different countries, legal due diligence, and analysis of ownership structures and governance matters. I have contributed to legal support for a proposed equity investment in a foreign contractor and a cross-border construction project. My ability to work in Azerbaijani, English, Russian and Turkish helps with coordinating documents and correspondence. Where a separate opinion on the law of a foreign jurisdiction is required, the work would involve coordination with legal counsel in that jurisdiction.
MY WORK IN THIS AREA
- Legal review of contracts and corporate documents relating to international business partnerships.
- Collecting documents for a proposed transaction and identifying due diligence questions and open issues.
- Supporting documentation on ownership interests, governance, authority, and the parties’ obligations.
- Legal coordination among participants in different countries and, where needed, local legal counsel.
WORKING TOGETHER
Initial transaction review · Documentation and negotiations · Legal coordination We first identify the countries, parties, transaction stage, and legal work required. The scope of my work, the involvement of foreign legal counsel, and the documentation stages are then agreed separately.
YOUR FIRST ENQUIRY
State the countries involved, the business objective, which party you represent, and the current stage.
The scope of work, documents to be prepared, milestones and fees are agreed before the engagement begins. A brief description is enough for the first enquiry; arrangements for sharing documents are agreed separately.
